A friend of mine from Harvest, sent me this poem this morning:
I WAS SHOCKED
I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp—
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.
There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.
Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.
I nudged Jesus, 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.
'And why's everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said, 'they're all in shock.
At the thought of seeing you.'
Aren't you thankful for God's grace?

I loved this! Yes ever so thankful for our underserved Grace. Along with this theme may I share my favorie: I faced my Lord on Judgement day, along with other souls. Before me laid many squares like a patchwork quilt, An angel sat before each one sewing them together. I noticed my squares were torn and had many holes of different sizes, while others had beautiful squares. I had many struggles in my life, filled with hurts, temptations, the hardships, these were the largest holes. When it came time to display our quilts of life, I dropped my eyes in shame. An awe filled gasp filled the air. I raised my gaze to see the others who stared at me with wide eyes. I looked again to see,
the light had flooded through the holes in my quilt to reveal the face of Jesus. He stood before me with love in his eyes and said "Each time you gave your life over to me, it became my life, my hurts, my struggle, until there was more of me, than of you, so My light can shine through you.
