Great Promise

I have never met anyone who hasn't walk through the fires of life. We all face times in which we do not feel like we can make it, that we don't have the strength or desire to press on,  or maybe even the feeling like we don't want to carry on.

I don't think these feelings or thoughts catch God off guard at all. In fact, I think he is well aware of all the struggles, the hurts, the concerns and the like that we face -- and the fact that they can rob your joy and wear you down!  So he makes us this incredible promise....

Isaiah 42:2-3 "When you go through deep waters and great trouble I will be with you.  When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown.  When you walk through the fires of oppression [pressure, stressed out] you will not be burned up for I am the Lord your God."

Wherever you find yourself,  know that God knows right where you are at, He is there,and He cares about you more than you can imagine. Stand firm on the promises of God. You can make it. You WILL make it.

Preparing for Easter

I challenged the HC bunch to read John 14-20 this week as we prepare to celebrate Easter, and here is a passage that I have been reflecting on:

John 15.9    “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.  10 If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love.  11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.  12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.  14 You are my friends if you do what I command.  15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.  16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit — fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name.  17 This is my command: Love each other"

My prayer is that I can be obedient. That I can do  what God says. That I can be what God wants ME to be. I want to remember that I am chosen, and God has a wonderful plan and purpose for all of us. God is good.
