I just got done looking at the Assemblies of God World Missions 2008 Annual Report, and I must say my heart was encouraged with what is going on around the world. I remembered growing up thinking how amazing it would be to go follow a missionary around the world and watch them do great and mighty exploits for the Kingdom. I would think wow, that is amazing to go THERE and be a missionary. From where I sit now we need MORES missionaries THERE, and we need every Christ-follower and church to be missionaries HERE!
My heart is still moved with the powerful message of Jesus -- he is still in the life-changing business! He can restore broken relationships, heal a broken body, redeem a wayward soul, and gives us the promise of eternity spent with Him! So, whether you make it to Africa, or stay put here with me in the great Village of Somonauk, there are many people all around us who need the message of the "missionary" -- that God is still relevant and wants a relationship with His creation.
