I love this question from Ed Stetzer... Are we faithfully proclaiming the faith in the place in which we find ourselves today?

NBA WORSHIP

Happy Monday morning. I am sitting in the airport, and came across a pretty clever little clip that I had to pass along.

It is a beautiful Sunday morning, and I came across a powerful verse in my reading this morning that just gets to the heart of it:

Rom. 8.1   With the arrival of Jesus, the Messiah, that fateful dilemma is resolved. Those who enter into Christ’s being-here-for-us no longer have to live under a continuous, low-lying black cloud. (The Message)

I love how it reads, "Christ's being here for us"! That's amazing. The King of all Creation sent his son to have a relationship with us, to enable us to do life with him. Sweet.

The Message

I like reading the various translations of the Bible. I try to read a different one every six months or so to keep things fresh. I was reading one of my favorite passages from the Message paraphrase this morning, and I thought you might like it.

Psalm 1 (Message)
1How well God must like you— you don’t hang out at Sin Saloon,
you don’t slink along Dead-End Road, you don’t go to Smart-Mouth College. 2Instead you thrill to God’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and night. 3You’re a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month,
Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom. 4You’re not at all like the wicked, who are mere windblown dust— 5Without defense in court,
unfit company for innocent people. 6God charts the road you take.
The road they take is Skid Row.

Let me encourage you to find a Bible that makes sense to you. Maybe get a new one to spice things up a little. Whatever version you read -- make sure you keep "digging in"!

Back in the Saddle

We just got home from a few days away, and  as always it feels good to be home. This trip afforded the family a wide range of emotions, from the sadness of a memorial service, to the the stress of a car accident   to the rush of flying down a giant water slide with my six year screaming like crazy!  We had a great time, but we are ready to jump back in the saddle.

I am excited for this Sunday to see what God is going to next at Harvest, as we look at the third installment of our series Supernatural. Can you do me a favor this week? Take some time and pray that God will touch our hearts in a special way? We need His help! Thanks in advance.

Life

So just a quick post today. We are in Wisconsin for a few days of vacation and a memorial service. Today we went to play putt putt, and Danette won. Then we hit the batting cages, my softball coach should be proud. On the way home I was in my grocery getter -- mini van -- and we got T-boned by a man in a Buick!!

He caved in the right side of my car, but the good news is everyone is fine. So, I just wanted to share the "fun" events of the day, Pray for a quick and painless repair process -- we will need to head home at some point.....

Praise God in his holy house of worship, praise him under the open skies; Praise him for his acts of power, praise him for his magnificent greatness; Praise with a blast on the trumpet, praise by strumming soft strings; Praise him with castanets and dance, praise him with banjo and flute;

Happy Birthday

Today is Danette's (my wife) birthday. For my personal safety I will not disclose her age, but I will tell you that she rocks. She is a great wife, mom, friend, and ministry partner. So Danette, Happy Birthday!!!

One Prayer

Psalms 5: 3 In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare [a prayer, a sacrifice] for You and watch andwait [for You to speak to my heart].

We made it to Wisconsin today for a little down time with some of our family. As I get older I am really realizing the importance of making time to slow down, relax, and get the "tanks" full. I am looking forward to some fun times with my girls, in laws and, to jump into a couple of new books. I know I will be better for it, I use to feel a over crowded schedule was a badge of honor or even maybe a cheap ticket to credibility. I am learning that keeping a big picture personally is as valuable for me as keeping a picture organizationally.

Let's journey together. Let's make sure to take some time and refill the tanks. We to enjoy our families. Read a book, Take a walk. Remove the clutter of life, and make a renewed effort to enjoy your relationship with God.
